5 Proven Habits For Personal Growth
We love a blog that gives us tips on how to upgrade our self care and personal growth game.
It's a no brainer that taking care of your mind, body and soul is going to change the whole playing field for your business.
So what are some tips that WE like to stick to to help keep us focused and aligned?
Well... we're so glad you asked. ;)
1. Journalling
Let's just get this one out of the way, because it's so common that you might want to roll your eyes, but we swear by it. Whether it's a 5 minute bullet journal a couple times a day, or a straight up novel every morning, journalling is proven to help us relax and feel better.
For those of us that need to let go of work day stress, or do some pre-brainstorming sessions, you can use your journalling time to help you get your ideas out on paper before executing in the business, or to help you wind down after a busy day.
From boosted immune function, to overall reduced stress and managing your emotions, journalling and expressive writing can bring you a ton of benefits, both physically and emotionally.
2. Meditating
Another common, but incredibly effective tool that you can use daily to help you in your personal life and in business, is meditation.

Here is a short list of some of the things you can find relief from when you meditate regularly....
Controls anxiety
Promotes emotional health
Enhances self-awareness
Lengthens attention span
May reduce age-related memory loss
Can generate kindness
May help fight addictions
All of these benefits will of COURSE help you in business. Helping to reduce overall anxiety and stress is a huge factor in being able to handle the obstacles that come with owning a company.
3. Intuitive Eating
Another personal growth hack, for lack of a better term, is intuitive eating.
You might be wondering how this could pertain to business, or what that even is. Simply put, intuitive eating is allowing your mind and body to dictate your eating habits. It's listening to your body when you're hungry, instead of following a rigid diet or strict health plan.
Intuitive eating has been shown to help
Improve cholesterol levels.
Lower rates of emotional and disordered eating.
Increase positive body image.
Raise self-esteem.
Reduce stress.
Improve metabolism.
Give higher levels of satisfaction.
These benefits can help you live a more peaceful and content life, especially when you are a CEO and wearing a lot of different hats throughout your day.
4. Drinking lemon water
This tool can be a great way to incorporate habit into your daily routine. While all of these tips should be done on a very regular basis, drinking lemon water can be a great way to wake up in the morning and set the tone for all your other habits.
Drinking lemon water can help aid in digestion, because acidity helps break down food, which can help your overall gut health throughout the day.
Some other benefits you can get from drinking lemon water:
Helps in prevention of kidney stones
Provides a potassium boost
Supplies you with a healthy dose of vitamin C
Helps you stay hydrated for those of us who don't drink enough plain water in a day
5. Creating routines
Since we've already gone over this a few times in the blog, let's just make this it's very own tip.
Creating routines is a huge part of personal growth, because as creatures of habit, it's important for our mental health to have some sort of stability in our lives.
Even for the spontaneous souls out there, you'll find that they probably like to have their coffee first thing in the morning while they read the paper (do people even do that anymore???), or still like to take the same routes when they're in their home town.
So for people who maybe aren't so spontaneous, or just need a little extra stability in their lives, creating small and positive routines can be a huge needle mover for you.
Let's use the tips we've gathered in this blog to create a nice morning routine to set you up for the day.
Example:
Wake up and drink warm lemon water and put on some music
Stretch on my yoga mat and journal for 10 minutes
Meditate for 30 minutes on my mat
Make a yummy breakfast and get ready for the day (shower, brush teeth, etc)

You see how easy, and ENJOYABLE it can be?! And if you need to start small, go for it! Having 1 or 2 things that start the routine is sometimes all you need. If drinking the lemon water first thing helps you get into it, then start with that 1 task, and build from there!
Do you feel like you could incorporate these personal growth tips into your daily routine?
